Who we are

We built this
for DC's creatives.

JRCB Studios was born out of a simple belief: bold creative work shouldn't require industry connections or a massive budget. It should just require a space that gets it.

Rooted in the Shaw, Mt. Vernon Square, and Howard University communities, we opened at 52 O St NW to give DC's artists, performers, photographers, and visionaries a warm professional home — right in the heart of the city they already own.

Got questions?

Everything you need to know
before you book.

Do I need to bring my own photographer? +
Not at all. You can book a guided portrait session with us and we handle everything — lighting, direction, posing, and final delivery. If you're a photographer yourself, you're also welcome to rent the space and bring your own team. We work both ways.
What's included in a studio rental? +
All rentals include access to professional lighting equipment and your chosen backdrop zone — Cyclorama wall, brick wall, or color backdrops. Full space rentals give you access to all three zones. We're also close to Metro so your whole team can get here easily without a car.
Can I come see the space before I commit? +
Absolutely — we love walkthroughs. DM us on Instagram at @jrcbstudios or email contact@jrcbstudios.org to schedule a quick tour before you book. We want you to feel comfortable and excited about the space before your shoot day.
How easy is it to get here on public transit? +
Very easy. We're less than a 15-minute walk from both the Green Line at Mt. Vernon Square/Convention Center and the Red Line at NoMa–Gallaudet U Station. We're also 10 minutes from Shaw and Howard University. No car needed — your whole team can get here stress-free.
What are your hours? +
We're open 7 days a week from 9am to 11pm. Early morning shoots, late night sessions, weekends — we work around your creative schedule, not the other way around. Book your slot at jrcbstudios.org/appointments.
Do you work with first-timers? +
This is honestly one of our favorite things. JRCB was built to be a welcoming space — not intimidating, not exclusive. If it's your first time in front of a camera, we'll guide you through every part of the session so you feel confident and comfortable the whole way through.
